During 2008 the Museum collection was enriched through the extremely valuable donation by the National Bulgarian Film Archive consisting of twenty-six prints of published film posters.

In 2007-2008 the Museum at the National Academy of Art displayed its unique collection of “sokay” embroidery - The Magical Power of the Bulgarian Embroidery Exhibition – framed, artistically arranged and set up at Academia Gallery. In this relation the first scientific catalogue for the collection was published since the setting up of the Museum. Thus a start was given to a series of catalogues titled The Museum Collection of the National Academy of Art. Their aim is to gradually catalogue the whole scientific interpretation of the works and objects of art owned by the National Academy of Art.
